On our second day in the Bernese Oberland, we ventured to one of the tallest peaks in the area, Schilthorn. On the other side of the valley is the tallest peak in Switzerland, Jungfrau, which is about 13,500 feet. Schilthorn is just under 10,000 feet. To reach Schilthorn, we rode three gondolas. While waiting for the gondola from Gimmelwald, Westin and his bestie played at the park, while Nick and Shannon enjoyed the view.

The only thing at the top of Schilthorn is a restaurant and look out points. This restaurant was pretty cool because it slowly rotated so you could get a panoramic view while you dined.
Schilthorn was also a filming location for the James Bond movie, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." I think Kurt does a great impression of Bond.
On our way back down the mountain, we stopped in Murren to walk around. This town was a bit bigger than Gimmelwald, and a little more resort like, but still really quaint and charming.
We then picked up our luggage from our hotel in Gimmelwald and descended back to the valley. The boys got on a bus with the luggage to retrieve the car in Lauterbrunnen, while the girls and W walked to Trummelbach Falls where we met up with the guys.
Trummelbach Falls was a really cool site to see. You take a short tram ride up half the mountain and then walk through the mountain to see the path of a waterfall.
After the falls, we grabbed a bite to eat in Lauterbrunnen and then had to catch the train back to Zug, while the Rebers and Cottrells headed off to Austria to kill some time until we could meet up with them again the following weekend :)
