Paris - Day 2

We had a little less time on our second day in Paris because we had to catch a train at 6, but we still got in a lot of sites. We started the morning at the Arc de Triomphe and then walked down Champs Elysees, where we did some window shopping and checked out a couple historical points.

As we walked down Champs Elysees, we came across the most profitable McDonalds in the world (thanks Rick Steves for pointing that one out)

At the end of Champs Elysees are two palaces, the Grand Palace and the Petite Palace

After our walk, we went to Angelina's for hot chocolate. Their hot chocolate is out of this world good and super, super rich. Make sure to have a glass of water nearby, and you'll probably want to order some kind of bread to go with it, just to help your body absorb all the chocolatey goodness.

We then spent the afternoon at the Musee de Orsay (my favorite) and the Army Museum

I could have spent hours in the Orsay, just starring at Monets and Degas. We weren't supposed to take pictures, but I felt rebellious for a moment and snapped one of Degas pieces.

Inside the museum was a ton of armor and weaponry. It was amazing to me how much of it they had to display. It filled an entire wing of the building.

And then it was back to the hotel to gather our bags and head to the train station. We finally arrived home around midnight after changing trains in Zurich. It was one of my favorite weekends so far. I could go back to Paris any time. I truly love the city.

The next day, my mom arrived and we're having a blast with her here. It's just going by too quickly!
