Disneyland with Dad

We took our 6th consecutive weekly trip to Disneyland this past Tuesday. This visit was extra special because Ryan was able to join us and it was the last day we were able to go before we're blacked out for the summer. Ryan went to the park early with a friend to ride a few of the "big kid" rides before Westin and I showed up around 11. This was the first day this year that I felt the park was really crowded - as we had guessed it would be with school getting out and two new rides opened (Little Mermaid and Star Tours). Despite the crowds, we still had a great time and were able to get on a lot of our favorites. We didn't even bother with the 2-hour wait at Little Mermaid, but Ryan did get on Star Tours and said he enjoyed it (worth a Fast Pass wait, not a 2-hour wait).

Westin loves water... I think I've mentioned that before. He got so excited to see the Tiki statue spit out water while we waited for the show. In fact, the other day on a walk, he was obsessed with looking for water puddles on the street and got upset when he couldn't see any. Not sure what that was all about.

Back to Disneyland, here's Westin with our friends Evee and Owen in line at Small World. This smile makes every penny we spent on our passes, parking and food (and every meltdown at the end of each day) worth it... because, seriously, is that not the happiest looking kid at the happiest place on earth?

This visit we stayed for the new Mickey Soundsational Parade and really enjoyed it. They had a bunch of the characters from the different movies on their own theme floats (Mickey, Lion King, Little Mermaid, Frog Princess, Mary Poppins, the Princesses, and Peter Pan).

When he wasn't waving and blowing kisses to the characters, Westin was glued to the dancing and music.

What a great year of Disneyland fun we've had. Here's hoping that I can convince Ryan to renew in August!
