Continuing our adventures in Utah... today's entry covers the Old Mill Christmas party and a birthday celebration for Westin.
The Old Mill Christmas party has been a tradition since I was in college, probably even before then. The Old Mill gang consists of five families that have been best buds since the 90s when we all lived in the same neighborhood in Salt Lake. I haven't been to the annual party in a couple years, so I was thrilled to be in town during the event this year.
Every year we do a service project and have dinner together. Here's some of the gang wrapping presents for a family we chose to give a Christmas to.

The party was kind of to celebrate Westin's birthday, but more so a reason to see a few friends. Our friends the Ludlows brought a Christmas grab bag with lots of fun presents inside. Here's a group of us with some of the awesome goodies we got. Westin has a glow in the dark necklace, my dad is wearing what looks like a baby's beanie, Erika, Jordan and Jake all elf hats, and I was lucky enough to get the faux green hair.
Westin opened more presents, one of which was Yogi Bear from Kurt and Erika. He now knows how to say, "Hey Boo Boo" just like Yogi does.

Chris got these sweet sunglasses, and that's Kit in the corner (the one responsible for the grab bag)
During the second round of the grab, Kacey coincidentally grabbed the same hat as her hubby Jake. It was so meant to be.
And Kurt was just as lucky as me and grabbed the green hair
And finally, the two old-timers both got the baby beanies. Perfect best friend hats, if you ask me.
The evening was a blast. Pretty sure at this point, Westin started thinking he was going to get presents every night.
