Westin at 18 Months

A couple days ago Westin hit the 18 month mark and I feel like it's time for some fun facts about Westin at one and a half years old, so here we go:

~He loves balls, preferably a basketball. He started out calling it "becketball," then changed it to "b-ball," and now for some reason he'll sometimes say "ga-ball" (what the what?). Some mornings the first word out of his mouth is, "b-ball." That'a boy :)
~He often tries to repeat a word if you ask him to. Doesn't always get it right, but tries nonetheless.
~Still HATES to get his teeth brushed. I feel like a horrible person every time I have to pin him down to do it.
~Loves to be outside. Gets excited any time we leave and will often grab my shoes and hand them to me at any random point in the day to let me know he wants to go outside.
~Prefers running over walking.
~Favorite foods include: scrambled eggs, yogurt, string cheese, hummus, kid Cliff bars, apples, strawberries, blueberries, pizza, french toast, and cereal
~Enjoys going around the house and closing every door while saying "bye-bye"
~Is in a bit of a tantrum stage - if he doesn't get what he wants, he'll usually let out a big scream and stomp away while flailing his arms (lovely sight)
~Likes to cuddle in the morning and after a nap, but that's it. He's on the move the rest of the time.
~With his constant activity, he sleeps like a champ.
~We're almost down to one bottle a day, but still using the pacifier for naps and bedtime... and to stop public tantrums.
~Will be sitting in his car seat and all of a sudden start laughing. He's clearly got Carlston blood in him, if he can make himself laugh out loud ;)
~He has the cutest laugh ever
~Loves swimming and has recently discovered how to "jump" off the side of the pool. Jumping for him means that he just walks off the side... he doesn't really have the jumping movement down yet.
~Latest words: kick, click (those two often sound the same), home, happy, no more (first two word combo), Kobe (I taught him that one!), apple, strawberry, and Elmo. I think there are a few more, but I can't remember them at the moment.

And one quick CUTE story...
The other night before bed, Westin grabbed my hand and took me to his room where he proceeded to kneel by his bed, fold his arms and then point at me (signal for me to do the same and to say the prayer). My heart melted. This boy is so cute! It's amazing how quickly routines catch on and how sweet and pure the heart of a child is.

So fun to read these cute little facts and stories about Westin. He is at such a great age although claiming his independence is right around the corner (aka - Terrible Twos) so just incase he doesn't skip that stage and you actually have to deal with it, enjoy these months while they last. He is a doll, love the profile picture. He's got a heck of a smile!!!
