Wedding Bells

Last weekend, we flew up to Utah for my mom's wedding. Westin hasn't been on a plane since Christmas, so he was beyond excited to fly on a "big Southwest jet." He quietly stared out the window at the airport for a good 30 minutes waiting for our plane to pull up to the gate. When it finally arrived, Westin jumped up and yelled, "It's here, it's here! Our plane is here!!!" The look on his face was priceless. You would have thought it was Christmas morning. Anyway, the plane ride went great and we got to Utah without a hitch.

My mom picked us up, and after getting Westin settled and playing with Uncle T at her house, Ryan and I took off to Sundance for dinner at the Foundry Grill to celebrate our 7 year anniversary (which had been on May 20th). Ryan actually proposed to me in the mountains at Sundance.  In fact, it took me a little by surprise that he did it before dinner, but later I realized it was a smart move... can't blame a guy for wanting to enjoy his meal without nerves ruining every bite.

On Friday we had a little time to meet up with our buddies the Evers before all the wedding stuff began. We went to our usual stomping grounds, Classic Skating, where the boys could be boys and run and jump around with complete freedom. On our way, Westin made a call to grandpa Steve... just a cute picture.

Easton and Westin

Friday evening, my mom and Garry held a small (and by small, I mean like 50 people) family dinner at Bucco de Beppo's in downtown SLC. All of my mom's siblings were there, along with my grandparents and a few cousins. Garry's siblings and children were also there, so it was nice to finally meet everyone.

The next day was the wedding ceremony at the Salt Lake Temple. It was stormy and even hailed at one point, but it was still a beautiful day. I really couldn't be more happy for my mom.

To make the day even better, we got to sit next to this handsome couple - love me some Kacey time!

After the luncheon, we picked up Westin from the Evers' house and went home to change for the Salt Lake Real game. We were meeting up with Kurt and Erika, and unfortunately had a rocky start to the game - one that included Westin having an accident as we walked to the stadium. It was windy and cold, so there was no way we could hope for his pants to dry on their own. Luckily, there was a Real store on site and Westin walked away with a brand new Salt Lake Real track suit. And for the rest of the night, Westin told everyone he was a soccer player for Real.
And despite the wind, it was a really fun night. Real won in extra time and as you can see, Westin was pretty into it.

On Sunday and Monday we were able to spend time with Ryan's sister and her family. Sunday we joined them for church, dinner and s'mores. Then on Monday, the boys watched the kids while Lindsay and I went shopping at City Creek.

Westin also got lots of time with my siblings. Trev is always good about taking pictures with W, so here are a few from their time together.

Before leaving, we got one more night in with Kurt and Erika, and then headed home on Tuesday. As usual, the trip was over too quick!
