Last night I met up with Mandy, Harper, Jen and Julia (my high school gang) for a little girl time. We try to get together about once a month, but it's usually about every other month unfortunately. We missed Kirsten this time. She's teaching in San Diego and only gets up to our area when the kids are on break. Hopefully we'll see her soon.
So we hung out at Harper's new pad and made tacos - one of our favorite dishes. We started cooking around 7 and about an hour and a half later... we ate. Not sure why it took us so long to cook - I think we would start talking and then forget about the food. When we finally got around to eating, it was fabulous. We watched So You Think You Can Dance, skipping the judges comments and doing our own judging panel - it was awesome and we're the coolest people ever, so I don't care what you think. We were also supposed to look at pictures from Jen's Israel trip, but totally forgot to. Shame.
To end the night, the girls gave me a toast (with Sparkling Apple Cider, of course) to celebrate the pregnany. It was way cute and very thoughtful.
During all my fun, Ryan was working at his office and didn't get home until midnight. The project he's on was supposed to end this week, but for some reason he got hit with a bunch of last minute work. It's been crazy. I know he's definitely looking forward to the weekend, and we're looking forward to seeing his old college bud, Drew, who's coming in for the weekend for a wedding.
Oh - and two quick shout outs. The first goes to Tawni for sending me Jenny McCarthy's book about pregnancy called "Belly Laughs" - can't wait to start it. The second goes to Erika for sending me a maternity shirt - it's so dang cute. Thanks girls!
