We arrived Thursday evening, just in time to see the exterior decorations before it got dark.
Friday morning started off early, with kids getting up at 6:30. It's like they just can't miss a second of the day when at grandma and grandpa's house. Rick and Connie made homemade chocolate brioche bread that was truly incredible. I think I can honestly say it was better than the pastries in Europe!
After breakfast, the kids were in the pool by 8am!
By 10, they were on to the next activity, homemade bubbles. A huge hit!!!
Then it was back to the pool, where Avery enjoyed the shade with her new buddy, Pepper.
We had an afternoon BBQ, full of delicious food, including homemade peach ice cream (a Rich family tradition).
That evening, we went to the Rose Bowl for fireworks. Connie stayed home with Avery, so we could enjoy the late night with Westin, grandpa, Adam, and Doug and Jan's family.
We had actually been right here two years ago... the night before we left for Switzerland. Seems like a lifetime ago, but the memories are still so fresh.
A truly festive and fun 4th of July!
